Bathrooms

A bathroom is the job most likely to stall. It’s a small room that needs a lot of different trades, and every handover between them is a chance for the schedule to slip. I do nearly all of it myself — which is why my bathrooms don’t sit half-finished waiting on somebody else’s diary.

What a bathroom involves

Ten trades, one tradesman

Bathrooms belong to the most complex type of renovation there is. A single room needs most of these, in the right order:

  • Designer — re-design your current layout.
  • Demolisher — take out sanitary fittings, cabinets, showers and walls. Remove waste from site.
  • Plumber — re-route waterlines and waste pipes, install mixers and traps.
  • Electrician — re-route power lines, install ventilation, light fittings and switches.
  • Tiler — levelling, tiling and grouting of floors and walls.
  • Waterproofer.
  • Sanitary installer — install vanities, cabinets and showers.
  • Builder — level floors, build new walls, move doors, install new GIB, structural repairs.
  • Painter — paint walls, ceiling, door and windows.
  • Plasterer — plaster walls and ceilings.

Finding all of those trades and then managing their timelines and availability within a limited window is an almost impossible task. You can easily understand why organisation and planning is key to a bathroom renovation, not to mention the costs and stress involved.

Home Concept has completed over 200 bathrooms and will take care of your entire project from start to finish. We solve the technical challenges, and 90% of our bathroom renovations are finished between three and four weeks.

We can provide all sanitary ware, mixers, vanities, toilets and tiles — or we will install the products you have already purchased. No problem at all.

Bathroom renovation costs

Typically $15k – $35k

What the price depends on:

  • The size of your bathroom.

  • Level of customisation — knocking out walls, or moving fixtures to different places.
  • Structural damage.
  • Permits.
  • Designer costs.

Typical bathroom renovations run $15k to $35k depending on size and scope. The onsite assessment and quote are free, and the price includes everything.
